10-11-12

Today date!

Thanks to the Twilight Hike/Run and giving hearts in our community, the Twilight Fund is ready to help those cancer warriors in our community. Please pass along the fund to anyone you know who is traveling for treatments.

I can not begin to express my gratitude to the lovely ladies who put together the hike/run, the sponsors, the volunteers who gave hours of their time to help make Dalhart canyon look like Forks, Washington along the path! (That is where the Twilight series takes place, just in case you wonder why I made that description.) I was very blessed to have felt good and be a part of an amazing event, cheering on the starting line and congratulating at the finish line!

With all that said - I want to explain what the glowing path meant to me. Glow sticks were in water bottles with silver confetti lining the entire path. The sun was up the entire time people did the race, so the glowing path wasn't visible until dark. I'm so happy I went back when the sun went down. In the still and silence of the dark, I saw a path glowing with tiny lights, as far as I could see. In my heart I heard,
"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." (Psalm 119:105) and saw much more in the lighted path. My God, once again spoke in my heart.

In my anger for feeling sick,
my fatigue from all the trips back and forth to Amarillo,
and my sadness in the news I didn't want to hear that my chemotherapy treatments will continue,

I saw my path, and I saw it lit for me.
