Local anesthesia DOES NOT mean painless or easy. I had a choice, and I chose this because the Dr said "it's like dental work" what the F#<£!!!!!!! Not sure what his dental experiences have been, but mine included some laughing gas, and a few tugs, with mick jagger feeling lips for the rest of most of the day.
This involved being completely aware of going to an operation room, prep work, being strapped to an operating table with an oxygen mask, and nothing but shots on the place where he would place this device.
I am typing this and feel like I'm reliving a complete nightmare. From now on I'm going to ask for extra "happy" cocktail and continuous trips to the land of "wonderful", because this tough cookie has reached her tolerance point.
Of course, all the nurses were absolutely precious and kind, dr Taylor is a good surgeon, I'm just thinking he's never had any major dental work, or perhaps should have not given me the option to participate in this torture.
It's over!!! Time to focus on the next thing - Please continue to pray for me. I really feel it! The strength in numbers is giving me more strength.

ReplyDeleteYes, maam, take the Happy Juice!!! It is absolutely the best sleep you EVER have. You may have only been asleep for 20 minutes or so, but when you wake up you will think you have had a full nights sleep. TAKE IT. After having it, you can see why Michael Jackson thought he needed that....because the restful way you feel when you wake up is amazing really. We won't take it as far as he went certainly, but it gives you a new perspective on why a person may have wanted what he did. Hang in there Motley, it is one of many eye opening experiences that you will have to tell about this experience, I promise. In the end it will give you a new appreciation for LIFE, every blessed ounce of it! :0)

I can't believe they put in your port with only local anesthesia. That is craziness! Happy juice is a must.
